A Message from the President

Dear BBNC Members,

Welcome to another great year of activities with the BBNC! We have a terrific team of Board Members and activity leaders who have planned events that will be fun and offer something for everyone. Whether your interests are a sporting activity, like walking, biking or something a bit less active -- maybe the movies are more your thing -- the BBNC tries to have something you can enjoy each month. Highlighted below are some of the things we’ve planned for September for you. Take a look for what interests you, then call the leader to reserve your space today!

  • Our first WELCOME COFFEE at the Birmingham Community House is Wednesday, Sept. 8 at 9:30 AM. Stop by to meet some “new” members.
And, why not bring a friend along? (Babysitting provided.)
  • September Luncheon at the Birmingham Country Club on Thursday, Sept. 23 promises to be an outstanding opportunity to reunite with our “old” BBNC friends and make some new ones.
  • The BBNC will participate in the House Tour in Birmingham on Sept. 16. BBNC members staff one of the homes on the tour. Check with the Community House for your tickets to tour these fabulous homes. If you are interested in volunteering, contact Cheryl.
  • Looking for the chance to socialize with husbands? Try Couples’ Night Out on Saturday, Sept. 18 for a poolside BBQ at Stacey He’s home.
  • Combine signtseeing and exercise through Venturing Out this month with Stefanie and Frederique on Sept. 24 for a biking tour of Detroit. A great way to see the city!
  • Join us for the casual Coffee & Conversation on Sept. 24th in Novi.
  • Interested in Germany? Why not try the International Culture activity on Sept. 16 at the Community House?
  • If you don’t already belong to one of the small luncheon groups, a new group is being formed. Call Joan Stelzer if you’re interested.
  • For those who love to cook, BBNC offers an exciting monthly cooking class. For September, Chef Lynn Miller offers a menu to spice up our lives with delicious New Orleans-style Chicken and Shrimp Gumbo. Spaces for this activity fill quickly, so don’t delay in contacting Lynn.

Opportunities abound so check the newsletter for further details on these and many other activities. I hope to see you at many of them -- this and every month!
