Who We Are

The Birmingham-Bloomfield Newcomers Club (BBNC) includes over 250 women from all over the world. We are expatriates from places like North America, Asia, Europe, the Middle East, the Caribbean and South America. We also have Americans who have recently relocated to the area, or those who have lived here for a while and enjoy making new friends from other countries.

The Birmingham Community House sponsors our Non-profit group. Even though our group's name suggests that our members live only in Birmingham and Bloomfield, we also come from other local communities. Members live in Rochester, Novi, Beverly Hills, West Bloomfield, Farmington Hills, Auburn Hills, Livonia and Troy.Basically, if you are a woman who lives within driving distance, you are able to become a member.

The average age of our members range from 20-70. We share no membership-wide affiliations besides having moved to this area and a desire to enjoy international female camaraderie and social activities within our new communities.

Through BBNC, members choose activities and events that fit their own individual interests. Over coffee or card games, through sports or community service projects, we get acquainted and enjoy our time together. We teach each other new languages, customs and cuisine. We inspire each other. More often than not, cross-cultural, lifelong friendships take root.

Read what a few members have to say about their BBNC experiences in our Testimonials gallery. The best way to get started is to come to a Welcome Coffee. BBNC Leaders organize fun group activities out of their own personal interests. A great opportunity to make new friends. Browse through our summary of activities to see which interests you the most.
