Community Service Holiday Projects

Please support a food drive to benefit Gleaners Food Bank (www.gcfb.org). Through November and up to December 12 bring non perishable food items to any BBNC Activity. They will be delivered to Gleaners for distribution to the needy. This activity is being sponsored in conjunction with the language conversation groups and the book groups to promote community service.

BBNC will also support Haven’s Gift Giveaway. Haven supports individuals and families challenged by domestic abuse and violence by providing shelter and counseling to meet family needs. (www.haven-oakland.org) The Gift Giveaway allows families having received Haven services to “shop” for holiday gifts for their family on Dec 17. The items are all new and provided by donations. Items needed range from clothing and diapers for infants, to toys and gift cards for older children, to gifts for parents such as housewares, linens, and clothing. ALL ITEMS SHOULD BE NEW AND UNWRAPPED. See link a complete list of suggested items.
